Jay Geils-Gerry Beaudoin and the Kings of Strings have been chosen by the national jazz organization as Statesmen of Jazz. The Statesmen of Jazz is a non profit group, headed by Mat and Rachel Domber of Arbors Recorsds, whose mission is to promote our unique American art form called jazz. Jay Geils will be giving a clinic at the Premier Guitar Festival on Sunday September 16th at 2:15. A consumate jazz and blues guitarist Jay has performed or opened for B.B. King many times since their first meeting in the late 1960's. On a recent B.B. King tour a few years ago Jay was invited by B.B. on nine concert dates to be his guest and close the show with the B.B. himself. The clinic starts at 2:15 PM.

Award winning jazz guitarist Gerry Beaudoin will give a lecture on the music business at the Premier Guitar Festival on September 16,2007 at 12:15 PM at the Bayside Expo Center. Gerry is an adjunct professor of music at Quincy College in Quincy MA where he teachs a course he designed on the music business. Gerry has lectured at many festivals and colleges on the music business including Bostons prestigious Berklee College of Music.

The new Gerry Beaudoin CD , Swing Cafe , is out on Northstar Records. It is a re-issue of selected tracks from Gerry's two recordings with David Grisman. The six tracks from their Minor Swing CD have not been available since 1992 and the six tracks from Just Among Friends since 1998. June 2005 will see the release of a compilation recording combining tracks from the award winning Gerry Beaudoin Trio CD Minor Swing as well as Just Among Friends. In 1998 Just Among Friends was submitted for consideration for a Grammy nomination. Both CD's feature mandolin titan David Grisman as well as jazz guitar legend Bucky Pizzarelli and blues icon Duke Robillard. This compilation recording is being issued by North Star Music.
